Yi-Hong Chen, PhD

Yi-Hong Chen is Deputy Director of the China Grain Products Research and Development Institute (CGPRDI), overseeing R&D, food safety certification, food inspection and related work. Before CGPRDI, he worked for the Food Industry Research and Development Institute in Hsinchu, Taiwan, for 28 years. Chen received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Agricultural Chemistry from National Taiwan University and holds a PhD degree in Food Science and Technology from Cornell University. He has authored numerous scientific papers and obtained many patents. In addition, he has received numerous professional honors, including the Achievement Award in R&D from Taiwan Association for Food Science and Technology in 2007 and has won Food Industry Innovation Competition twice in 2007 and 2009. A permanent member of the Agricultural Chemical Society of Taiwan and the Taiwan Association for Food Science and Technology, Yi-Hong is also a reviewer for several international scientific journals and actively participates in international activities in the field of food science and technology.
